In 2018, Lacoste Garden Centre, a local family-owned business, engaged Prairie Architects Inc. for the redevelopment of their existing 7,653 square-foot retail store at 2787 St. Mary’s Road as the customer interface to the nearly 30 acres of property which contains various greenhouses, outdoor retail areas, and “back-of-house support spaces and retention ponds. The design involved the redevelopment of the interior retail space to support the expanding boutique merchandising area; creation of a more functional layout to reduce congestion and support the high volume of customers during peak operating times; a new coffee bar; an exterior entrance vestibule addition; new, direct exterior access to the boutique; and a complete exterior refresh, which includes new windows to both the second floor office area as well as throughout the main floor retail area, new asphalt paving for the parking area, and an exterior seating patio for customers. The project is a catalyst for the company’s rebranding strategy, which builds on the Lacoste’s 75-year history and provides the foundation for continued growth and success well into the future.
